**** Coloma to Salmon Falls ****

Happy Spring/early summer to all of you. Come join NORCAL RAFTERS as we take on the South Fork of the American River. This run is a class II and III run and considered an intermediate level run. We will be taking on rapids such as Fowlers Rock, Upper Haystack, Satans Cesspool, Son of Satans Cesspool, lower haystack, Bouncing Rock, Hospital Bar, Recovery Room, and last but definitely not least...Surprise. The forecasted TEMP should be 78 degrees, but a full body wetsuit is highly recommended(just ask Jared Wilson aka "The Floater"). Wetsuits or PFD's(lifejackets) will NOT be provided for you, but are available to rent for $6 a day from myself, or other available stores that carry them. California Canoe & Kayak in Rancho Cordova rent wetsuits for $15 per day and are open from 10am-6pm Saturday, and 10am-5pm on Sunday. You have 2 options for renting your wetsuit, one is that you call in early in the week, give the guy your weight & height and have them put it on hold for you to pick up at your earliest convenience, or sunday at 10am which leaves you enough time to meet at 11am in El Dorado Hills.

1. $25 for gas

2. A small lunch

3. Old tennis shoes or waterbooties

4. A PFD

5. A full body wetsuit

6. A healthy respect for the river.
